Every year The Championships provide the players with a generous gift voucher to The Wimbledon Shop. We scoured the stores on site and picked out our favorite products to share with you. Read about our purchases below.
Some of the most special things about Wimbledon are its understated elegance, attention to detail and respect for history, all of which are embodied by this darling rose gold charm from Links of London. With a meaningful nod to the tradition of strawberries and cream at Wimbledon, this simple yet beautiful charm is simply lovely. Links of London offers a number of other Wimbledon themed charms that change year over year, making them fun collectible items. Easily swappable, the Links collection is a gorgeous option for any jewelry lovers.
Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam tournament to release an official hardcopy book of each tournament annually. We personally have a collection of the books dating back to every year that Kevin competed in the competition, and it is a great way to commemorate this special event. It is impossible not to enjoy the beautiful imagery and descriptive day-by-day recount of The Championships as they unfolded one year ago.
The British tea culture is impossible to ignore, and so that’s why some of our favorite gift items from Wimbledon is always their tea paraphernalia. You can be reminded of The Championships when you sip your tea and munch on biscuits with their cute array of mug choices. This year we fell in love with this whimsical hand-drawn mug, and brought a few home for our friends and family. If you are like us and already have plenty of tea cups and coffee mugs at home, we suggest the adorable kitchen tea towels. We always have a need for cute dish towels in our kitchen, and this festive option will remind us of Wimbledon all year long.
One of the most coveted items by players is the official competitor’s Wimbledon towel. An article in the Wall Street Journal a few years ago estimates that players smuggle away roughly 3,600 towels annually, probably because of the fact that they make excellent gifts and commemorative keepsakes. This year the tournament even stopped providing the special towels to the junior competitors because of how rampant the towel theft had become! Most players have a stockpile of these special towels at home, so you might want to stock up too! They come in the official Championship’s colors of purple and green for men, or pink for ladies.
Some of the most special apparel options at The Wimbledon shop each year are the beautiful Ralph Lauren collections. Ralph Lauren has been the official outfitter of the tournament’s lines-people, umpires, and ball kids for years. We really love the official ball boy and girl track tops and have enjoyed ours for a few years now. We also love the Ralph Lauren hats in either navy or white, with the year embroidered on the side. The sporty Ralph Lauren polos have also made great gifts for our dads over the years.
Every year we like to bring home a gift for our young nephews from The Championships. This year we picked out these adorable teddy bears wearing cute cable knit sweaters. With the year embroidered on one foot and the tournament’s logo on the other, these bears are cute even just as a decorative item!
Coasters are one of those things we can always use more of around our house. This year, Kevin’s Mom suggested bringing these home from the Wimbledon shop, and we thought it was a great idea. They make a great conversation starter in our family room, and can remind us of the many special memories we have made in SW19.
